Help
The Internet Relay Chat (IRC) is a system that allows people from all over the world to chat with each other by typing in a window.
FRCchat.org has a web-based chat client. A direct connection to the #restore channel is available using a chat window on the FRCchat page. The #restore channel is preset and all a user needs to do is enter a nickname. Your nickname will be displayed in the chat channel window next to the entries your type.
For basic information on IRC, see #Beginner - Undernet

Wikipedia also has a list of all Internet Relay Chat commands (not all commands work with the web-based chat client at FRCchat.org.
IRC Etiquette - What to Do, What Not to Do
In general, IRC etiquette, or chatiquette, includes
- Be considerate and be respectful of others.
- Don't SHOUT (that is, don't use all caps)
- Avoid flooding. Keep messages short - use several short lines instead of one really long one. Keep all messages to no more than 4 lines.
- Say goodbye when leaving so as not to leave people wondering if you left because of something they said.
